ProbateTV started as an ambitious idea. Take the investigative energy of shows like Heir Hunters and give it a modern documentary treatment, with real cases, real stakes, and the pacing and visual polish you'd expect from a broadcast series rather than a corporate explainer.
I filmed and edited the series entirely on my own, which meant owning every stage of the process. That's shot-listing each case for maximum narrative tension, capturing interviews that felt candid rather than staged, and then spending most of my time in the edit suite building the reveal, the moment where scattered facts snap into a story. Getting that pacing right, so the emotional beat lands without feeling manufactured, is genuinely the hardest part of this kind of work, and it's the part I enjoy most.
Colour grading was pushed toward a slightly desaturated, procedural look. It's a deliberately understated choice so the human moments carry the weight instead of the visuals doing the work for them.
The result is a series that's been genuinely well received for making a niche subject like probate and heir research feel as gripping as any true crime documentary. That's the whole job really: finding the story that was always there and giving it a shape people want to watch.
