Actor Headshots

How it came together

Actor headshots live or die on one thing: does casting see a person, not a pose. My approach is built entirely around that, creating a relaxed enough atmosphere in the room that what comes through on camera is genuine personality and range, not a performance of confidence.

Technically that means controlled, flattering light that still reads as natural, and directing each subject through small shifts in expression until we land on something that feels authentic and casting-ready rather than stiff. It's as much about how I talk to someone between frames as it is about where I put the light.

Every set from this series is built to give an actor a genuine range to choose from, because the best headshot is the one that looks like them on their best day, not like a photograph.
